We take our role as a global citizen pretty seriously. We’re always working towards minimising our impact on the planet, but here are just a few things we’re proud of to date.
And if you’re not much of a reader, our eco- frontman Guy summarises things pretty well when you hit play below!
Reduce & Reuse
We partnered with Waste Ninja to collect our food scraps to turn into renewable energy and send all of our spent grain to local farmers to feed their cattle.
We also catch rainwater and use it to water our plants, to keep our beer gardens lush and thriving.
Solar Power
We have 356 solar panels on the brewery, generating 130,000 kWh a year, powering over 60% of of our electricity needs!
Materials
Tins, cardboard and paper mean our packaging is lightweight and recyclable. We've ditched disposable plastics in our Beer Halls and use toilet paper produced from recycled materials.
Over the last year, we've made huge strides in addressing food waste and have partnered with a couple of awesome organisations to ensure we're minimising our footprint...
We kicked off a partnership with OneFish TwoFish at the beginning of 2023, and since, the fish and chips sold at our venues have been responsible for 17,434 Greenback Flounder and Rock Flathead being returned to Corner Inlet.
How exactly?
Fresh, local, and regenerative.
It’s no secret that ya’ll get through a shuck load of oysters every Friday, so how do we make sure we’re doing our part to preserve oyster reefs?
Through the Shuck Don’t Chuck programme…
Ultimately, this protects our shorelines from erosion, regenerates ecosystems by providing food, shelter and nursery areas for a heap of marine life, and creates more oysters for us to enjoy without the risk of overharvesting.
